Which pack to take

The explorer’s pack is the general-purpose choice: bedroll, rations, rope, torches and a waterskin. The dungeoneer’s pack swaps the bedroll for a crowbar, a hammer and pitons in 2014 (caltrops and a crowbar in 2024). The burglar’s pack adds ball bearings, a bell and a hooded lantern; the priest’s, scholar’s, diplomat’s and entertainer’s packs are built around their background. Classes offer two or three packs in their starting equipment, and the builder fills the contents in for you.
